Asperges me Domine

Gregorian chant for the aspersion with holy water. Immediately before the principal mass on Sunday the celebrant sprinkles the altar, clergy and people with the holy water. Chant "Asperges me" is used throughout the year besides the paschal time, when "Vidi aquam" is being used.

ASPERGES me, * Domine, hyssopo et mundabor: lavabis me, et super nivem dealbabor. Ps 50, 3. Miserere mei, Deus, secundum magnam misericordiam tuam. V. Gloria Patri, et Filio, et Spiritui Sancto. R. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost. R. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Ant: Thou shalt sprinkle me with hyssop, O Lord, and I shall be cleansed; Though shalt wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
